thanks so much for your sweet words....y'all can make a girl feel loved :)  happy to be back again...

 i remember the day mom and i were painting my porch swing and i told her "i think i'm done blogging"...i didn't think i really meant it but obviously i didn't come back.  then, whenever i would sit down to do a post it seemed very daunting...today, i was talking to my mother on the phone and she said "your dad's mad that you aren't blogging anymore"...well, i can't have my dad mad at me....so i'm back.  i've missed you.

here's some updates on things i've been working on around my house....

i painted the inside of the bookcases and had lights installed...

my parent's arrived w/ the barn door for our playroom and bed swing for our porch....
mom and i have been working hard caulking, sanding, and painting.....

a peek of what is going to be the swing's cushion and pillows......

next week, i'm hoping dad will be able to install this wallpaper into my powder room.....

 okay, off to put on yoga pants and start painting again....btw, if you follow me on instagram, those orange bunkbeds are the hardest thing i have ever painted....i'll post pics when they are finally okay to show...(aka when warren helps me finish painting them)....hope y'll have a great weekend!!!!

y'all deserve a post....and i promise to give one as soon as things calm down.  right now, the best i can do is unload some iphone pics.  we are officially in our new home and wake up everyday extremely thankful for it.  thank you so much for all of your sweet comments on instagram.  i will do a real post soon (promise).  here are some answers to your questions: the pendents over the island are circa lighting, the lantern is regina andrews, and the table is oly.   i'm really excited b/c my dad is going to come here next week and help with some fun projects.  he built a barn door for our playroom and a swing bed for our porch.  i can't wait to see them (and paint them...he does the wood work but the rest is for me to do).  i'm putting him to work while he's here....he is going to tile our kitchen backsplash and wallpaper my powder room.  i am so grateful to have such a talented dad.  he's a lifesaver...

Sat. night my phone rang at 10:00...when i saw dad's cell on my phone i panicked and immediately thought something's wrong.... my dad does not call at 10:00 at night (actually no one calls at that time since i reached my 30's and had kids ha!).  when i answered the phone it was super loud and my dad was yelling "shannon do you hear this?!!"  i realized he was at a concert w/ my brother and he was excited about a song that was playing.  it put a smile on my face that he thought to call me.  i didn't want him to know that all i heard was yelling and nothing that resembled music.  i get my love for music from my dad.  he listens to songs he loves loud and over and over again.  whenever we are together he likes you to listen to the songs he's discovered.  it's cute and i realize i do the same thing....so here's my suggestion of the week (dad i think you'll like it).

this past weekend, i went camping with my family.  i'm not a camper by any means but i am trying to embrace it b/c my kids think it's fun and you know what, it's kind of growing on me.  we camped at the beach and it was actually hot enough for us to go swimming in the ocean.  it was quiet the day and it was fun going back to the campsite and cooking out.  i will say though, if i am going to camping more often, i want an airstream :)
